The last couple of days at The Future of Web Apps has confirmed something I was talking to one of my friends about a few months ago… We have a gold rush on right now. There are a mass of little startups right now. Why? Because the web is booming. Behaviour is changing and acceptance is growing. It’s becoming ubiquitous. That’s hardly news. What’s interesting is the position that we find ourselves in as web developers. We are in the unique position of being able to execute our own ideas. So Ryan paid £25,000 to build DropSend. That’s no a lot of money… But many inside the industry could build that in their bedroom in a few months for next to nothing. Has there ever been another time in history when the barrier to entry to a potentially massive market (indeed global market) been so small?
